Frequently Asked Questions
When can I schedule a session?
I typically schedule weekend sessions. Out door sessions are best done an hour before sunset to get the best lighting. I do try to work around busy schedules though because I understand life can be hectic. Available days fill up quick so its best to schedule 3- 4 weeks in advance. Send me a email and we can get started on booking your session.
Do you deliver every image you shoot?
No, I do not. I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. For example, because I shoot with low apertures, sometimes I take a few extra shots to make sure I have the perfect focus. I don’t expect you to have the expertise or the time to zoom into each image to select the one with the sharpest focus, so I spend hours doing that on my end.
Do you touch up all the final images?
Yes I do. Every image I deliver has been through post processing. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, clarity adjustments, and other corrections.
What rights do I have to the digital images?
If you purchased digital images you have the right to reprint them whenever you want. You may not sell your images for profit or publish your images without my written consent.
I’m really bad at posing and I’m terribly unphotogenic! Can you help?
Believe it or not, pretty much EVERYONE tells me this before their session, and it never turns out to be true! I love coaching my clients through having their photos taken, and I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to make you look fabulous! When you’re having a great time, you’ll look more beautiful than you thought was possible.

What happens if it the weather is bad on our scheduled session date?
I keep a number of backup dates open each month in case of bad weather, and there is no fee to reschedule to a new date if it’s raining.

What if my kids don’t cooperate?
I love getting to know my clients’ kids. I always approach the session as a new friend who’s just there to play and have a good time. I find that being easy-going translates to happy kiddos. That being said, not every moment of the session is perfect, and that’s totally OK — in fact, it’s encouraged! In 10 years, I’m willing to bet that you’ll cherish the image of your toddler crying fake tears just as much as the one that we took 10 seconds later of him happily running toward the camera. My goal is to capture the personalities of the kids in front of my lens, including all of the beautiful quirks, details, and small moments that make up childhood.

Can I keep the images from my session private?
All clients sign a model release before the session. If you would prefer to keep your images private, you may indicate your request at that time. I absolutely respect your decision and will keep your images under lock and key.

Is custom photography worth the investment?
Custom photography is definitely an investment for both the client and the photographer. I highly recommend this fantastic article if you’re interested in learning more about the difference between hiring a high-volume studio and hiring a personal photographer.

What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept Venmo, Cashapp, Paypal, Zelle and cash. Because credit card companies take a percentage of every sale for processing, the best way to support small businesses is by paying with cash.
